Obituary of James A. Gallagher

James A. Gallagher, 88, of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., passed away peacefully on Friday August 4, 2017. He was the loving husband of 59 years of Elizabeth "Betty" (Donoghue) Gallagher. Born in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia on July 19, 1929, he was the son of the late James A, and Mary Stinson Gallagher. He was a devoted father of: Lizanne (& Mike) McKay Jim (& Debbie) Gallagher, Meg (& Nick) Sabia , Rosemary (& Michael) Dekker, Brendan (Amanda) Gallagher, Keith (& Arlene) Gallagher Adored grandfather of 16 grandchildren and predeceased by his grandson, Brendan. Brother of Joan Exner. He was preceded in death by a brother John Gallagher and a sister, Rosemary Gallagher He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a proud graduate of Northeast Catholic High School, and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a longtime employee of the Philadelphia Eagles as Director of Public Relations and is a member of the Hall of Fame. He was humbly and proudly inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame., the Pop Warner Hall of Fame, and the Northeast Catholic H.S. Hall of Fame. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Mass for James on Wednesday August 9, 2017 at 12:00PM at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA. 19462 Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:30AM-11: 45AM at the church Interment will take place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate Memorial contributions in James memory be sent to : Epiphany of Our Lord Church 3050 Walton Rd.
