Betty has been living at Dock Woods Retirement Community for the last 4 years, formerly of Plymouth Twp., Pa where she had lived for over 50 years. Graduate of Reading High School, Albright College, and the medical technologist program at Jefferson University Betty retired from Women's Medical Hospital where she worked in clinical pharmacology. Of her many accomplishments, she was especially proud of the research on Lopressor in which she was included in a research paper. She was an avid volunteer and she served in many roles such as Girl Scout leader with Freedom Valley Service Unit where she recieved their volunteer of the year in 1978. She also volunteered with Plymouth Township Board of Health, she was a Plymouth Township committee woman, She was a member Plymouth Township Historical Society and she voluntered time to maintain gardens at the Plymouth Meeting Historical Farm. She was a Volunteer Organization Acitive in Disasters V. O. A. D. And also voluntered with Plymouth Township Parks and Recreation Committee to create what is now the Plymouth Community Center. In addition she enjoyed working there as a instructor aid to the tiny tots program. Betty sang with many choirs including St. Johns Lutheran, St Peter Lutheran Church and the Strawbridge & Clothier choir which became the Singers and Choraliers Her passion was her garden and if she was not maintaining it she was taking someone on a tour through it.

Obituary of Betty S. Graves

Betty S. Graves, 86, of Telford, PA died on August 26, 2014 at Dock Woods Community of Lansdale, PA. Born in Reading, PA on January 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William P. Sarge and D. Aurora Sarge. A former clinical pharmacologist, Betty had been living at Dock Woods Retirement Community for the last four years. She was a former resident of Plymouth Twp., PA where she lived for over fifty years. A graduate of Reading High School, Albright College, and the medical program at Jefferson University, Betty retired from Women's Medical Hospital where she worked in clinical pharmacology. Of her many accomplishments, she was especially proud of her research on Lopressor, for which she was included in a research paper. Graves, Jr. and her second husband, William I. Milton. Survivors include her daughter Victoria L. Graves and her husband James Rutkowski of Telford, PA, her daughter Suzanne E. Graves of Lansdale, PA, as well as a granddaughter, Lauren Victoria Rutkowski of Telford, PA. Her memorial service will be held on Saturda,y August 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM from the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 107 West Lincoln Avenue, Telford, with the Rev. David Christensen officiating. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Church. Interment will be private.
