Jean M. Belt
Jean M. ( Emrick ) Belt, 96, of Blue Bell, PA passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020. Born in Corry, PA on July 10, 1923.
Jean was the daughter of the late Boyd and Ursula ( Scully ) Emrick.
Jean had been living in Blue Bell, PA for the last 7 years, formerly of Athens, TX, Warminster, PA, Honolulu, HI, Subic Bay, Philippines, SanDiego, CA, and Detroit, MI. Leaving home to serve as a Wave in the US Navy during World War II, she met her husband James, who shared her love of dancing. She received the American Area Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
Married for 55 years until her husband James’ death in 2001, Jean was a homemaker whose volunteer efforts always made a huge impact on wherever she was living. She and James were recognized as Volunteer Couple of the Year in Henderson County, TX. Together with her husband, she enjoyed playing bridge, RV camping with the Good Sam Club, and Square and Round Dancing. While living in Texas she volunteered on the board of Henderson County Food Pantry for decades.
Survivors include, son James (& Donna) Belt of Raleigh, NC, son Robert (& Diana) Belt of Panama City, Fl, and daughter Judy (& David) Horrocks of Eagleville, PA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren.
Her service and interment will be private.
