Obituary of Donald P. Brady
Donald Paul Brady (Butch Brady), 87, of Conshohocken, PA passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones.
Don was born in Syracuse, NY on November 12, 1937. The son of the late Joseph and the late Emma (Kaine) Brady. Don's mother passed away when he was 1, he was taken to West Conshohocken to his father's sister, Aunt Mary (Brady) McTamney, the woman he called mom. He was cherished and loved by the McTamney family. To the Farrell's, he was a beloved cousin, brother, and uncle.
Donald gratuated in 1955 from St. Matthew's RC High School. Married the late Mary Lou (Casey) Brady in 1958 and in 1959 started with the Overhead Transmission Division at PECO for well over 30 years.
In the 1970s, he was a 4th degree knight at the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knitght in 1972. Don and Mary Lou summered on the bay in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where they spent many years with the great friends they made in the Port Delmarva Community.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Lou (Casey) Brady for over 66 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathy (Rick) Brady-Cassel of Conshohocken, PA; daughter, Donna (John) Bonner of Plymouth Meeting, PA; son, Matthew Brady of Panama Beach, FL; daughter, Margie Brady of Bridgeport, PA; son, John Brady of Conshohocken, PA; and his grandchildren, Tim Bonner, Katie Bonner, Shannon Bonner, and Casey Cassel; as well as great grandson Darien Small. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife and parents, Don was preceded in death by his McTamney siblings and cousins Jack, Paul, Betty, also Duke and Marie Farrell and his birth siblings Dr. Joseph Norbet, Janet, and Clair Brady.
His Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 10:30 AM from St. Matthew's RC Church, 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the church.
Interment will take place in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Hospital.
