Obituary of Charles P. Schnell

Charles P. Schnell, age 92, of Limerick Twp., PA passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025.


He was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 25, 1933, the son of the late Charles J. and Martha A. (Sattler) Schnell.


Charlie lived in East Norriton and Collegeville, PA before moving to Arcadia at Limerick Pointe, where he has resided for four years. He was a parishioner of St. Eleanor’s RC Church. He was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School and LaSalle University, working as an Accountant until the time of his retirement. Charlie’s favorite thing was spending time with his family. He and his wife Irene enjoyed summers in Ship Bottom, NJ and later winters in Naples, FL. He was an avid supporter of the Phillies in good times and tolerated “the bums” in the bad. Later in life, Charlie and Irene enjoyed many bus trips and taking the train into Philadelphia to see shows at the Walnut Street Theatre. Charlie enjoyed his many friendships made where he lived at Arcadia at Limerick Pointe.


Charlie served honorably served in the U.S. Army.


He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Irene Schnell of Limerick Twp., PA; five children, Frank (Karen) Schnell of Odenton, MD, Patty Schwartz of Leonardtown, MD, Rene (Greg) Schmidt of Pottstown, PA, Kathy (Gary) Foley of Trappe, PA, and Tom (Lauren) Schnell of Spring City, PA; brother, Vince Schnell of Cherry Hill, NJ; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.


Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Joseph Schnell, Martha Mazeikas, and Robert Schnell.


Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday, December 4, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Eleanor’s RC Church, 647 Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00AM.


Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
