John Michael Westwood, Sr.
John Michael Westwood, Sr., 75, of Collegeville, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Born in Baltimore, MD, on September 18, 1950, he was the son of the late Fred Hopkins Westwood and the late Helen Virginia (Merrill) Westwood. Mike had recently made his home in Collegeville for the past couple of months and was formerly of Phoenixville, PA.
A proud graduate of Virginia Tech, Mike built a long and accomplished career as an electrical engineer. He took pride in his work, enjoyed solving problems, and remained connected to his profession as a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He also had a deep interest in mathematics and found real joy in thinking through numbers, patterns, and puzzles.
Outside of work, Mike enjoyed woodworking and gardening—creating and tending with patience, care, and a quiet satisfaction. Whether he was working with his hands or nurturing something to grow, he brought the same steady focus and thoughtful approach that defined him. A lifelong dog lover, he found true comfort and companionship in his dogs, who brought him daily joy and a sense of peace.
Above all, Mike loved his family. He was a devoted father who cared deeply for his sons and took great pride in them. He also cherished his grandchildren, Mason, Mia, Lily, and Ethan, and treasured the time he spent with them. His steady presence, thoughtful nature, and quiet love will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his sons, John Michael (Cristina) Westwood, Jr., of Collegeville, PA, and Robert Samuel (Theresa) Westwood of Royersford, PA; his sister, Linda Dannenman of Maryland; his sister, Barbara Savage of Maryland; and his brother, Robert Westwood of Maryland. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Mason, Mia, Lily, and Ethan, and by his former wife, Kathy Laverne (Oakley) Westwood.
Service and Interment are private.
