Frances C. Matthews  

Frances C. (Cunningham) Matthews, 82, of East Norriton, PA passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026. 

She was born in Upper Darby, Pa on June 20, 1943, the daughter of the late Richmond B. and the late Helen (Clayton) Cunningham.

Frances has been living in East Norriton since 2002, formerly of Norristown and King of Prussia and she was born and raised in Upper Darby.

She graduated from West Chester Teachers College and received her Master's in Psychology from Chestnut Hill College.

She worked as a Elementary School Teacher with Norristown School District then as a Counselor with Programs and Counseling of Norristown.

Frances was a Talented Abstract Painter and a member of Greater Norristown Art League.

She was the wife of James M. Matthews.

Survivors include Husband James Matthews of East Norriton, Son Richard Hart of Washington State, Her Nieces and Nephews Andrew (Jeanne) Schnarrs, Karl (Wy) Schnarrs, Julie (Davin) Palmer, Kimberly Schnarrs, David (Chi) McCall and Sarah (Robert) Schmalbach. Also survived by Great Nieces and Nephews.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Rebecca McCall and Christine Schnarrs.

Her service and interment will be private.
