Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Murray

Elizabeth Anne "Betty" Murray, age 89, of Royersford, PA passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 21, 1936, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Hufnell.

Betty was a parishioner of St. Mary’s RC Church of Schwenskville for 64 years.  She was a graduate of Little Flower High School.  Prior to her retirement, she worked in the Montgomery County Community College Learning Resource Center for 20 years.  She loved music and reading.  She was a devout Catholic and prayer warrior.  Betty loved staying in touch with her family and friends. 

She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Murray.

She is survived by four daughters, Anne (Gary) Stern of Martinsburg, PA, Patricia (Scott) Aron of Blue Bell, PA, Ellen Murray of Royersford, PA and Stephanie (Leonard) Breccia of Pottstown, PA; and sister, Edith (the late William) Greene of Milford, MA.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Paul, Jenny, Suzie, Rebekah, Jonathan, Joshua, Bryan, Emily, Lauren, Nichole and Antoinette; and 13 great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Reina, Marcelo, Karter, RJ, Ella, Layla, Jay, Shepherd, Luke, Alice, Austin, Willow, and Baby Boy Murray due any day. 

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Hufnell. 

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:30 AM at St. Mary's RC Church, 40 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville, PA 19473.  Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday morning from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at Church. 

Interment will be private in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Serenata in the Dock Woods Community where mom lived for the past 18 months.  She was showered with love by caregivers who became her extended family.  

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Mary's Church at the above address.
