Obituary of Irene J. Lewandowski

Irene J. Lewandowski, age 77 of West Norriton, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in Einstein Montgomery Medical Center of East Norriton. Wife of the late Raymond Lewandowski and companion in her later years of "Mac" McCoullough. Born in Conshohocken, PA on April 4, 1936, daughter of the late Katharine (Bochniewicz) and Louis Bany. Irene was born and raised in Conshohocken, Pa and has lived in Norristown most of her life. She was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi RC Church of Norristown and worked with Norristown State Hospital for 27 years retiring in 2005. She regularly attended Jesus Focus Ministries Bible Study. Irene was well known for her good cooking and baking, as well as her Feisty & Strong personality and most remembered as being very generous and "one of a kind." She is survived by daughter, Cynthia Schodle of East Norriton; son, Kerry Bani of Center Valley, PA; brothers, Edward Bani of Jeffersonville and William Bani of Plymouth Meeting; sisters, Ann Grover of West Norriton and Helen Gardocki of East Norriton; granddaughters, Shannah Schodle of Audubon and Nicole Bani of Collegeville. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers Joseph, Stanley & John Bani and sisters Theresa Patton, Stella Janoski, Amanda Cetera, & Mary Michniewicz. Her Memorial Mass will be held Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. from the St. Francis Of Assisi RC Church, Marshall St. At Buttonwood Street, Norristown. Friends may call Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Church. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: Montgomery Home Care & Hospice, 25 West Fornance Street, Norristown, Pa 19401.
