Obituary of Kathleen M. Reid

Kathleen M. "Kass" (McNeill) Reid of Bridgeport, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, with her family at her side. She was 79. She was the beloved wife of 47 years of the late Strahley H. Reid. Born in Bridgeport, Pa. on July 9, 1934 she was a daughter of the late John and Clara (Collins) McNeill. Kathleen who was known to all her family and friends as "Kass" was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport. Until her retirement, Kass worked as a Waitress and Hostess at the former Friendship Grille Restaurant in Bridgeport. She was a lifelong member of St. Augustine Catholic Church of Bridgeport, and served as the organist and Choir Director of her Parish for over 40 years. She was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School of Philadelphia, class of 1952. Kass was a caring and loving person and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Survivors include: daughter, Donna (& James ) Falcone; son, Donald Reid; daughter, Rosemary (& Ed) Giacomelli; son, Michael (& Kelly ) Reid; daughter, Jacqueline (& George ) Zapien; sisters, Jean Ostroski and Mary Giangiulio; grandchildren, Amy, Matthew, Christopher (Boo Bear), Damian (Boomer), Michael, Chelsea, Stephen, Nicole, Emily (Petunia), Zachary, Joseph, and Calvin (Sparky); great-grandchildren, Peyton (Skooch), James (Happy Man) Chance (Little Bear) & Matthew. Kass was also survived by several nieces & nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kass's Funeral Mass on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:30 AM at St. Augustine RC Church, 464 Ford Street, Bridgeport, Pa 19405. Rev. Robert J. Murray O.S.A and Rev. James a Lyons, Parochial Administrator will be concelebrating the Funeral Mass. Friends may call on: Friday morning from 9:00-11:20 AM at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, Upper Merion Twp., PA.
