Nellie S. (Smoogen) Strouse, 90, of Norristown, PA died on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Coatesville VA Medical Center Garden of Hospice in Caln. Twp., PA. Born in Mryn Mawr, PA on September 4, 1924, and formerly of Conshohocken, Nellie had been living in Audubon Village. She was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship Church of Audubon, PA. She was a US Navy Veteran of Korean War and Japanese Occupation. Nellie was retired from Phoenixville Hospital where she was Head of OB/GYN for 24 years. She was a member and met her late husband at Parents without Partners. She also was a member and Past President of Young at Heart, and Nellie was an active volunteer with the Red Cross. Survivors include her daughters, Jane Toal of Audubon Village, PA, Joyce (& Douglas ) Wimer of Coatesville, PA; Step sons, John (& Lynn) Strouse of Blue Bell, PA, Robert (& Rose) Strouse of Conshohocken, PA ; Step daughters, Charlotte Boyle of Blakeslee, PA, Virginia (& Donald) Flocco of Conshohocken, PA; and sister Florence Reynolds of Coatesville, PA. She is also Survived 5 Grandchildren & 3 Great Grandchildren. Along with her husband, Ebert Strouse, and parents, Paul P. Smoogen and Florence (Burdett), she was also preceded in death by a Brother Paul P. Smoogen, Jr. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 12:00 PM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, with Pastor Craig officiating. Friends may call on Monday morning from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: Hospice at Coatesville VA Medical Center, 1400 Black Horse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320.
