Obituary of Susan S. Kovalesky

Susan Shiring Kovalesky, 57, of Collegeville, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born February 26, 1965, in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Martin P. Shiring and Maryetta (Baker) Shiring, and long-time resident of Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Susan was a graduate of Grove City College and St. Joseph’s University, and worked for HR Acuity where she had so much admiration and respect for her coworkers and friends.

Above all Susan was a loving wife and mother. She was known for her love of Philly sports teams, reading, Sudoku, Disney World, and her ability to start conversations with anyone she met. Susan loved to read and read hundreds of books every year. Even fighting cancer, this year she read 58 books. She loved going to sports games – especially the Phillies, Eagles, and Penn State with her family and neighbors. She went to Disney World frequently and loved planning Disney vacations.

She is survived by her cherished husband of 35 years, Jeffrey E. Kovalesky, and two daughters, Sarah Ann Kovalesky, and Emily Suzanne Kovalesky (and soon to be son-in-law Samuel Birch).

She is also survived by her two parents Martin and Maryetta Shiring, three brothers, Dan (and Mary Lou) Shiring, Canton, Ohio; Martin (and Carrie) Shiring, Wheaton, Illinois; and Steven (and Kelly) Shiring, Glastonbury, Connecticut along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, July 29 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday morning at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. 

Interment will take place at a later date.
