Obituary of Mary F. Gilmore

Mary F. Gilmore, age 104, of Plymouth Meeting, PA passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at her home.

She was born in Poplarville, Mississippi on December 30, 1918, the daughter of the late Cyrus Warren Bilbo and the late Ida Rosetta (Carroll) Bilbo. 

Mary has been living in Plymouth Meeting since 1951.    

She was the wife of the late Joseph W. Gilmore, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Ronald J. (Lynne) Gilmore, of Jersey Shore, PA; daughter, Jeanne (John) Simons of Plymouth Meeting, PA; sister, Alma Castleberry of Poplarville, MS; brother, Paul (Betty) Bilbo of Poplarville, MS; 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Margaret Morgan, Grace Baughman, Cecil Bilbo, Ray Bilbo, Jim Bilbo, and Neville Bilbo.

Mary retired as an employee from Philco-Ford Corporation in Lansdale, PA.

She was a faithful Christian who loved reading her Bible and listening to Gospel music. Mary loved serving the Lord by opening her home and helping those in need. She was a loving, gentle, and kind soul who was often found giving to others and was a wonderful blessing to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition, Mary enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and decorating her home.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home.  

Interment will take place in Northwood Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.
