Obituary of Augustine J. Castaldi

Augustine J. Castaldi, “Gus”, age 82, of Collegeville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.     

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 14, 1940, the son of the late Francis Castaldi and Agnes (Ewing) Castaldi.  He was the oldest of four children. 

Gus was raised in Southwest Philadelphia and has been living in Collegeville since 1976.  He was  a parishioner of St. Eleanor RC Church.  He had a long career as a Signalman for the PA Rail Road and later Amtrak.  He was a train enthusiast and member of the Train Collectors of America. 

He was the loving husband of 59 years to the late Judith Mae Castaldi (née Vieth).   

He is survived by his daughter, Chris (& Bob) Slegelmilch of Blue Bell,;   

son, Gus (& Theresa) Castaldi, Jr. of  Boyertown,   

daughter, Judiann (& Jim) Georgevich of Liberty, NC;   

brother, Francis (Delia) Castaldi of Upper Darby, PA;

two sisters, Joanne (& Jules) Navarro of Florida; Anna Marie (& Bob) Pedé of Royersford, PA;

six grandchildren, Paul (& Kelly) Slegelmilch , Jimmy Georgevich, Jill (& Peter) Stewart, Jenna (& Quinton) Ahmad, Ashleigh (& Corey) Stephens and Augustine Castaldi III;   

four great grandchildren, Brooks, Karrington Mae, Callum and Harper. 

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 10:30 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426. 

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday morning from 9:00AM to 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home.  

Interment will take place in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA.
