Walter has lived in Norristown, Pa all of his life. He attended Norristown High School, class of 1959. He served in the US Marines, where he was an expert riffleman and received the Good Conduct Medal. He was a life member with Fairmount Fire Co. of Norristown, Pa. In June of 2014 he celebrated his 50 th Wedding Anniversary
