Family of Uncle Len,
I got to know uncle Len better through social media. Thanks to Facebook, we shared many wonderful memories. I discovered he and Aunt Maryrose babysat Pat and I fairly often giving us ice cream on the sly when our parents left. I remember feeling loved and safe with both of them. Thank you both!
When I got caught in a flash flood he shared how he almost lost his life getting swept away trying to cross a bridge. He spoke much of his love for family. Always willing to listen and share about his own life.
We could never agree on the show Breaking Bad. He insisted it was an excellent show, never judging me for disagreeing. He was smart, funny, kind, accepting. Always writing back to Pat and I. He was generous with his time. Uncle Len said many times how thankful he was for having children that were easy to raise, and a wife that loved him devotedly alwaya catering to his very specific taste in food and caring for him when ill. It is an honor to call Uncle Len family. Pat and I miss our online chats.
Much love to this beautiful growing family.

Dear Messina Family,
I have such beautiful, loving memories of Uncle Len. His sense of humor, his gentle sarcasm, self effacing manner, and kindness always prevailed. I did not realize what a movie buff he and Uncle Bobby are until I read Uncle Bobby's beautiful tribute to him. I too share a love of movie going. It must be in our blood. I remember he and Aunt Maryrose were a very special Aunt and Uncle as I was growing up. They always made my sister and I feel welcome when we visited when we were young. Mark and Jennifer were the CUTEST little cousins, and grew up to be amazing adults just like their parents. I am honored to be related to this amazing, loving, kind family.

My memories of my brother len are many ,he was an avid movie buff with a sense of humor and dry wit that was never offensive, we shared so many Saturday nights together more then would be believable to most and after the movie it was usually back to my house for cake and coffee I would guess we spent 40 weekends a year going to a movie ,I will miss those nights tremendously ,I also will miss your ribbing of each other as we often did ,you didn't have a harsh word for anyone and you were a great influence to me on how to be a good father because your love of your family was one i tried to emulate, and last your memory of pop culture was why I used to call you Google, became before Google came out I was always able to get an answer to any questions I had about anything, you will be missed by many and loved by all who knew you ,my last words to you are I will see you later and I will always save the end seat for you

Dear Brother Len, so sad to see you go but knowing that God has called you to Heaven, lightens the sadness. You are gone but my memories of you as a “good guy and a good brother to all of your siblings will remain forever. You never stopped being a Good Practicing Catholic Man; you were a naturally excellent all around Family Man; a steady Working Man and a Good Family Provider. Lenny, I admired that you succeeded in following a calm, unpretentious, moderate and intelligent existence. You were a smart man and I always looked forward to exchanging dry wits with you, even though you always managed to make me laugh first.
I especially enjoyed and will miss our memories of an old Alfred Hitchcock Movie “The Rope” where we repeated specific lines dozens of times for many years and it never got old. “Arrivederci, caru frati sicilianu, finu a quannu ci ritroviamu.”
