Obituary of Ita McMorrow

Ita McMorrow 


Ita McMorrow, 86, of Collegeville, PA passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
Ita was born and raised in Stonepark, Dromahair, Co. Leitrim, Ireland on July 23, 1938. She was the sixth child of the late Philip and the late Katie (McSharry) McMorrow. Ita came to the USA when she was 21 yrs old in 1959. When she arrived in the US, she lived in Conshohocken with family and then later moved to Norristown, PA before moving in 1991 to her home in Collegeville, PA.

She was a faithful member of St. Eleanor RC Church of Collegeville, Pa.


While living in Ireland, Ita was a hairdresser. When she arrived in the US, she began working as a Psychiatric Nurse’s Aide for Norristown State Hospital, from which she retired. Ita was not only a dedicated employee, but she was also a good friend to many and a devoted loving family member. She was always there to support and help those in their time of need. She will be greatly missed by all fortunate enough to have known and loved her.


She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Mary Raisl (Gary), Theresa Mscisz (John), Kathleen M. Clancy, Bernard (Mim) Brady, John (Bridget) Brady and many Great Nieces and Nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews.


Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings John and Patrick McMorrow, Alice Tiernan, Marie Brady and Kathleen H. Clancy; Brother-in-laws Charles D. Tiernan, Martin B Brady and James J. Clancy Jr. ; her nephew James P. Clancy and great niece Mariah Clancy and great-great nephew Liam Williamson as well by her longtime friend John Fondots.


Her Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 11:00 AM from St. Eleanor's RC Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA.
Friends may call on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the church.


Interment will take place in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Norriton, PA.


In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Eleanor's RC Church - 647 Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426.
