Obituary of George A. Lapps

George A. Lapps, 93, of Audubon, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2016 at the Birches at Arbor Square, Harleysville. He was born in West Philadelphia on October 15, 1923, the son of the late Lukach Lapihuska and Mary (Sidora). After serving in the US Navy during World War II, George earned a Bachelor’s degree from LaSalle and a Master’s degree from Temple. He worked for many years in insurance and financial planning, and retired from National Life of Vermont. George has been a resident of Audubon since 1972. He loved the Lord and was a devoted member of True North Christian Church of Trappe. He was active in prison ministry and served at both the Montgomery County Correctional Facility and SCI Graterford. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife, Dell. George is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dell Lapps of Audubon, son, Jonathan ( & Janet ) Lapps of Mason, OH; three daughters, Andrea ( & Vince ) Burke of Exton, PA; Stephanie ( & Doug ) Miller of Harleysville, PA; Alane ( & Ray ) Kidwell of Gilbertsville, PA; and a Sister in law, Orpha Lapps of Springfield, PA. George is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:30 AM at True North Christian Church, 104 W. Third Ave., Trappe, PA 19426. Friends and family may call on Saturday, November 12, 2016 beginning at 9:30am at True North Christian Church, 104 W. Third Ave., Trappe, PA 19426. The funeral service will follow at 10:30am.
