Mason with Fritz Lodge of Conshohocken, Pa John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially playing Bridge, Golf, Biking and Boating

Obituary of John W. Traub, Jr.

John W. Traub, Jr., age 87 of Harleysville, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 in the Golden Living Center of Lansdale. Husband of the late Edna (Custer) Traub. Born in Norristown, PA on August 16, 1925, he was the son of the late Anna (HEnzel) Horner and John W. Traub, Sr. John has been living at Peter Becker Community for the last five years, formerly of King of Prussia He served in the US Navy during World War II, where he received European Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, and the Victory Medal. He was a graduate of Conshohocken High School and Drexel University where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as an engineer with Alan Wood Steel where he worked for over 33 years before going to work with Stone & Webster Engineering of Cherry Hill, NJ. He was a member of F. & A. Mason with Fritz Lodge of Conshohocken. John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially playing Bridge, Golf, Biking and Boating. He is survived by sons, David (Elizabeth) Traub of Portland, OR, and Scott (Nancy) Traub of Newark, DE; sister, Arlene Doney of Wildwood Crest, NJ; grandchildren, Laura (Ross), Daniel, Elliot, Emily, Ethan, Eric and Emerson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Freas. His Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken. Clergy: The Rev. Richard A. Olson, II officiating. Friends may call Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Valley Forge Gardens of King of Prussia.
