Patty was a really fun cousin to look up to (4 years age difference). I remember being up in her cool shared bedroom where we played as younsters and then later learning about boys and make-up and high school. She and I had a fun trip to Washington, DC, to learn about our country with my parents (no other siblings along - yeah!!!!) We had some fun times at Willow Grove Park, especially screeching on the roller coaster. Patty's was the first bridal shower I ever attended and I held her in awe when she gave birth to Jennifer and then "Timmy." Back in the 80's, my husband Mark, son Ross, and I had five really nice New Year's Day dinners with Patty, George, Jenn and Tim, alternating at each other's homes during the years we lived close by in Blue Bell (before our Lisa was born). Family get-togethers were one of Patty's favorite things to host and much enjoyed by all. Patty loved to cook and was stellar in the kitchen. I don't think there was anything she didn't know how to make! Patty certainly loved and adored her two granddaughters and especially having them for overnights. It set an example for me and I do the same now with my grands!! It is hard to believe Patty has passed away after such a courageous battle with her cancers. I look forward to celebrating her life at the service on Wednesday.

I have known the Jones family for quite awhile, and what I will always remember about Patty Jones is how deeply invested she was in her children and grandchildren, how much attention she payed to their interests and their education, how involved she was and what a fantastic parent and grandparent she was.
I will also remember the wonderful sense of humor, the hilarious and sometimes off-kilter banter between Tim, her husband George and the family. We had quite a few laughs and joyful moments over the years, a foundation of friendship that will surely continue indefinitely.
The Jones family is one my family holds most dear; Tim is my oldest and most trusted friend since the seventh grade, and Patty was my Aunt Dawn’s buddy in high school as well. They are the best kind of people you could hope to meet.

My earliest memories of my cousin Patty are of a super adorable, petite, blond, quintessential "1960's" teenager (I was 7 years younger than her) with her hair in a "flip-up." She would come with Aunt Irene and "Aunt" Rosemary to our house in Avalon for what we called "Bachelorette Week." The three of them would arrive in Rosemary's big round classic 1950's car, the three of them seated across the front "bench" seat, and they would bring the junk food that my Mom would never buy! Marshmallow Pies, I think one of them was called? Yum! Monday to Friday, just us girls: my mom Ruth (Patty's aunt), my sister Betsy, me, and the three visitors. I remember Patty rolling her hair with beer cans! Long days on the beach, really fun meals together, shopping and movies in Stone Harbor, great time all around. She and my mom were very close. Patty was so special to my mom always, and thus, very special to me.
