I enjoyed working with Hugh at Eastern. When I worked in Conferences and Special Events, he always volunteered to be my "big, scary-looking guy" if I needed one. Such a kind and gentle person. My prayers and sympathies to his family.

I loved working with Hugh at Eastern. He was such a wonderful man. I always admired how much he loved his wife. He would refer to her in conversation as "the bride".

Hugh was one of the kindest men I have ever met. Always a smile and a "top of the morning.." greeting that made me smile no matter how my day was going! It was a special bonus when I would run into him in BJ's! Praying for the family, and especially "the bride". He was a treasure.

Hugh was a good friend for the years that we spent at Eastern. He always enjoyed Susie Joe donuts in the mail room. He was a good source of conversation from the world goings on or from life. He always remembered to send a card at Christmas. He looked forward each year to going to their camper in Lancaster. Hughie will be missed by many who crossed his path.

Hugh was my friend and colleague at Eastern University. I have many wonderful memories of him driving the security van and walking the campus serving our community. He was one the original members of the lunch bunch who met daily in the coffee shop to break bread and discuss the latest news. Hugh lovingly referred to his wife as "the bride" when he spoke of her. Truly a good man who will be missed by all. Sending my condolences to his children, grandchildren and "his bride".
