Obituary of Kathryn Fogarty

Kathryn "Kitty" (Farrell) Fogarty, of Bridgeport, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Bellingham Retirement Community in West Chester, PA. She was 88. Born in Norristown, PA on January 24, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Lynch) Farrell. Kitty was the loving wife of the late Reds Fogarty and she passed on the 67th anniversary of their marriage. Born and raised in Norristown, she has bee residing in Bridgeport for over 65 years. Kitty was employed by Villanova University for 56 years and she was the longest continuing employee in the history of Villanova University. She retired just two years ago. She was honored by the University and recognized by Villanova's President, Rev. Peter M. Donohue, O.S.A., for her loyal and dedicated service. She was greatly loved by the faculty and students of Villanova. Kitty was a graduate of Norristown High School and she was a member of St. Augustine R.C. Church in Bridgeport. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by two sons, James (Sharon) Fogarty of Exton and Michael (Karen) Fogarty of Newtown Square; eight grandchildren, James, Brian, Carlin, Kevin, Michael, Renee, Suzanne and Chad and seven great-grandchildren, Colin, Brennan, Molly, Ronin, Declan, Kayla and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Tina Fogarty. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kathryn's Funeral mass on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Augustine R.C. Church, 464 Ford Street, Bridgeport, PA. Msgr. Francis X. Schmidt will be celebrating Kathryn's Funeral Mass. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:00 - 10:45 AM at the church. Interment will be at St. Augustine Cemetery, Upper Merion Twp., PA. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials in Kathryn's name be made to: Crossroads Hospice, 523 Plymouth Road, Suite 335, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 OR to Father Chuck's Challenge, c/o Monsignor Francis X.
