Obituary of Maria Jo Kyriss

Maria Jo (Haines) Kyriss of Lafayette Hill, PA, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Mercy Suburban Hospital in East Norriton, Pa. She was 57 years old. She was the loving wife of the late Calvin B. Kyriss, Jr. Born in Bryn Mawr, Pa. on May 4, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. & Dina ( Salvati ) Haines, Jr. Maria Jo received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1978 from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. She was a Chemistry teacher for 17 years and among the schools she taught at was the former SS. Cosmas & Damian elementary school in Conshohocken. She has been employed with the Vanguard Group of Malvern, Pa for the past 13 years. She has been residing in Lafayette Hill, Pa since 1980. She was a graduate of the class of 1974 of Plymouth -Whitemarsh High School. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Freeland Chapter 323. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order serving three terms in 1997 -1998, 2001-2002 & 2003 -2004. Maria was a loving and generous spirit who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends, especially her dog Mitzi. Maria is survived by a step son, Scott B. (& Chrissy) Kyriss TSGT, USAF of Dover, DE; mother in law, Etta DiRenzo; grandchildren. Hannah, Jacob & Adam Kyriss; brother, Joseph (& Brenda) Haines of Plymouth Meeting; sister, Patricia (& Ron) Benedict-Smisko of Conshohocken; nieces, Miranda & Rebecca Haines & Dana Benedict; nephews, Joseph W. (& Heather) Haines & James D. Benedict. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Maria Jo's Funeral Service on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, Pa. Friends may call Friday morning from 9:00-11:00AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
