Obituary of Nelson Mills Baird, Jr.

Nelson Mills Baird, Jr. passed away peacefully on Wed. March 26th, 2014 at Columbia Cottage of Collegeville, Pa. He was 94 years old. He was a longtime resident of East Norriton Township. Nelson was preceded in death by his beloved wife Edith Irene (Snyder) Baird. Born November 17th, 1919 in Norristown, PA he was the loving son of the late Signe Ingabor (Eklund) Baird and Nelson Mills Baird, Sr. Nelson was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church of Norristown, PA. Nelson was the loving father of his two daughters Barbara Irene Ellis of Sulphur, LA, and Beth Anne Peciaro of Trappe. He is also survived by his grandchildren Amanda Kingsbury of Sulphur, LA, Michael (Mikey) Peciaro of Jacksonville, Fla., Andrew Peciaro and Steven Peciaro of Trappe, PA and a great daughter Aeriella Kingsbury of Sulphur, LA. At the age of 21 Nelson joined the Army and was stationed in Iceland and Louisiana where he attended school for radar. Nelson was initiated and made a Mason on June 20, 1967. He received many honors while in the Masonic Order. He was a Worshipful Master of Norristown Lodge No. 620, District Deputy Grand Master, Grand Pursuivant, Aide to the Grand Master, District Masonic Education Chairman, and he was honored at the Chaplain of the Four Chaplains in Philadelphia, PA. He also served many years as a Home Liaison for Admissions to the Masonic Home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers of Columbia Cottage, Collegeville, PA for the loving care and comfort provided to Nelson. Nelson's profession of painting and interior design made many clients happy and some of his clients became lifelong friends. He was an excellent provider and we will have fond memories of our father and grandfather who was an exceptionally hard worker and loving father. There will be a Masonic Service at 10:00 AM with His Funeral Service to follow on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Moore, Snear, and Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, Pa 19426. His viewing will begin on Monday Morning at 9:00AM until 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Limerick Gardens
