Obituary of Jay H. Wilfong, Sr.

Jay H. Wilfong Sr. of West Conshohocken, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 3, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years old. He was a Retired Union Carpenter with Local 1595 of Montgomery County. He was the loving husband of 59 years of Lois J. (Brown) Wilfong. A lifelong West Conshohocken resident, he was born on Rebel Hill on February 10, 1926, a son of the late J Howard & Helen (Cook) Wilfong. He was a long standing member of Fritz Lodge 308 F. & A. M. of Conshohocken & the Scottish Rite of Allentown. He was a 1944 graduate of Upper Merion High School. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a well accomplished carpenter, his home is filled with many handcrafted furnishings. Jay was an avid hunter & fisherman & he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Jay (& Michelle) Wilfong of West Norriton, Charles (& Denice) Wilfong of West Norriton, his daughter Suzanne (& William) Rolli of Limerick, his grandson Charles Daniel Wilfong. Also survived by nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Diane Barrett & his brother Charles Wilfong. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jay's Funeral Service on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, Pa. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Gulph Christian Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
