Obituary of Shirley E. Heater

Shirley H. (Hamilton) Heater of Collegeville, died on October 13, 2014 at Phoenixville Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Heater was born on August 19, 1928 in Doylestown, a daughter of the late Norman and Laura (Crouthamel) Hamilton. She was 86 years of age. Mrs. Heater graduated from Hilltown High School. For over 20 years she worked in production for Merck & Co. She enjoyed bus trips and spending time at the various New Jersey beaches. Mom Mom was famous for her brownies and Mac and Cheese and brought them to almost all occasions with family and friends. She was well liked by all who knew her and enjoyed time with her friends, acquaintances, and, especially, her family. Mrs. Heater was the widow of James C. Heater who passed away in 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Filopanti (Mark) of Trappe and her son, Jeffrey Proctor of North Wales and her step-children; Shirley (George) Christian of Birdsboro, Deborah Alessi of Gilbertsville, Paula (Scott) Weller of Barto, and James (Brenda) Heater of Vandergrift, PA. Also surviving are her sister, Arlene (Ken) Royer of Perkasie; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Greg, by her brothers, Ken and Don Hamilton, and her daughter-in-law, Linda Proctor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, October 25, 11:30 AM at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 532 E. Main Street, Collegeville, PA 19426. Friends may call at the church from 10:30 to 11:15 AM on Saturday. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to the above-named church.
