Obituary of Laurent A. Beaudry

Mr. Laurent A. "Larry" Beaudry, 89, of East Norriton, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Mercy Suburban Hospital of East Norriton, PA, with his loving family by his side. Born in Chicopee, MASS on August 10, 1925, he was a retired, self-employed Scientific Writer. Larry had been living in East Norriton since 1950, He was born and raised in Chicopee, Mass. He was a member of St. Patrick's RC church of Norristown, PA and a former and founding member of St. Titus RC Church of East Norriton, PA. He graduated from St. Hyacinthe College of the University of Montreal in 1943. He volunteered for the US Army Air Corp as an aviation cadet where he went through advanced training and graduated as a 2nd Lt. Aerial Navigator in the United States Army Air Corp in 1944. Served in World War II and 5 years later served in the Korean War where he flew 55 combat missions as a B26 Navigator - Radar-Bombardier. He was discharged in 1952with three Air Medals and a Distinguished Flying Cross, immediately after discharged he graduated from Tufts University with a BS in Biology & Chemistry. He started his own marketing - advertising business L.A. Beaudry & Associates with clients such as Hewlett - Packard, DuPont, and Honeywell. Survivors include his Wife: Mary (Forde) Beaudry of East Norriton, PA, Daughter: Maura (& James Gow) Sutherland of Schwenksville, PA, Sister: Lucille Granger of Chicopee, MASS, and Sister: Marcelle Russell of Cherry Hill, NJ. He was known as "Papa" to Maeve (& Paul ) Sutherland, Andrew Sutherland, John Sutherland, James Gow, & Austin Gow. Along with his parents, Alberic Beaudry and Mary Louise (Paquette) Beaudry, he was preceded in death by his first wife Ann "Anna" (Debes) Beaudry and brothers Leonard, Albert, Clement, & Gerard Beaudry as well as a sister Adrienne Hammond. His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 16, 2014 at 11:30 AM From the St. Patrick's RC Church, 714 DeKalb Street, Norristown, PA 19401. Clergy: Fr. Gus Puleo officiating. Friends may call on Friday Mmrning from 10:00 to 11:15 AM at the Church. Interment will be private in St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Norriton, PA.
