Greta P. Pellegrino, of Norristown, passed peacefully on June 10, 2015 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. Her children and numerous family members were at her side. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank A. Pellegrino, son, Joseph Pellegrino and sister, Mena Mikowychok. She is survived by her daughter Maria Garlick of Lock Haven, her son John (Denise) Pellegrino of Southampton; brothers Joseph (Betty) Principe of Perkiomenville, Charles (Dolly) Principe, Dominic (Toni) Principe of Doylestown; sisters Mary (Charles) Tornetta of Wayne, Antoinette (Michael) Parkes of North Wales and Angie (Michael) Merrick of Australia, as well as many nieces and nephews. Greta was also the proud "Grammy" and "MomMom" to Nicholas and Benjamin Garlick, Jack Pellegrino, and Ashton and Dominic Pellegrino. Greta was born in Glenside, PA on June 6, 1933 to Alberta and Frank Principe. She was a graduate of Norristown High School in 1951. In October of 1958, she married the love of her life, Frank A. Pellegrino. She had a love of fashion and took pride in making her own clothes in her early years. She worked as a legal and office secretary for many years until her retirement from Carrier Heating and Air Conditioning. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a member of the Adoptive Mothers' Association, and a member of The Women's Guild of Norristown. Greta was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her beloved Philadelphia Phillies and 76ers. She even made a special trip to see the Phillies with her grandchildren for her 80th birthday and loved the limo ride and special Diamond Club accommodations! She enjoyed cooking and was famously known for her chicken rosemary, cheesecake, poundcake and meatballs. In addition, she will always be remembered for her laugh and her beautiful blue eyes that sparkled when she smiled. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Einstein Medical Center Montgomery for their support and compassionate care in her final days.
