Obituary of Rose B. Kiger

Rose Kiger passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the age of 92. Rose was a resident of East Norriton, PA, formerly of Conshohocken and West Conshohocken, PA. She was born in Conshohocken on October 28, 1923, the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Kosewska) Kolimaga. Rose was the wife of the late John Serafin and Robert E. Kiger. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's RC Church of Conshohocken where she helped with the Polish Festival and Christmas Bazaar. She was also a member of the St. Mary's Golden Age Club. Her favorite pastimes included playing cards, BINGO and spending time with her great-grandchildren. For the past two and half years, Rose was a resident of Brandywine Senior Suites in East Norriton. She quickly made friends and found that she also enjoyed playing Wii bowling, volunteering in the onsite store, arranging flowers and running BINGO at the Suites. Rose is survived by her daughter Barbara (& Frank) Sliker of West Norriton, PA, six grandchildren: Drs. Judith (& Stan) Belkowski, Susan (& Steve) Askey, Drs. Barbara (& Josh) Weikert, Kim (& Andy) Jamme, Michele (& John) Marsh and John Serafin, and five great-grandchildren: Bethany and Katy Belkowski, Stephen Askey, Kelsey Jamme and London Marsh. She is also survived by a brother, Walter Kolimaga of Media, PA. Along with her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, John Serafin, three brothers: Anthony, Frank and Steve Kolimaga, and three sisters: Sara Duchinski, Laura Garonski and Mary Murak. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's RC Church on Elm and Maple Streets in Conshohocken, PA. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Church. Interment will take place in St. Benedict's Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Rose's memory to: Conshohocken Veteran Association, Conshohocken, PA 19428 or Polish Heritage Society of Philadelphia, 423-A Shawmont Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128.
