Obituary of Kevin Dwayne Nash

Kevin Dwayne Nash, age 55, passed away on Tuesday January 1, 2019 in the Philippine Islands.  

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 17, 1963, a son of Giles (Rusty) and Elizabeth Frances (Clark) Nash.  Kevin has been living in the Philippine Islands for  the past six years.  He had formerly lived in San Diego, CA , Rosarita Mexico  and Trappe, PA.  
 
Kevin honorably served for 10 years  in the U.S. Navy. He served during the Iraq/Iran conflict serving aboard the USS Ranger. He became an Aviation Crew Member during this time.  The crew aboard the USS Ranger  spent 120 days in the Persian Gulf without a port of call. It was a Naval Record. After returning from this overseas tour, he re-enlisted and took training for Air Sea Rescue Swimmer in Pensacola Florida.  His next deployment was during Operation Desert Storm aboard the USS Jarrett  alongside the Battleship USS Missouri. After serving for 10 years, Kevin was Honorably Discharged from the Navy with several medals of commendation. (2) Good Conduct Medals,  (4) Combat Action Ribbons, Navy Unit Commendation, (2) Meritorious Gold Medals ,  Meritorious Unit Commendations in Battle, (2) Air Gold Medal II, (4) Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal.
 
Kevin had an infectious smile that could make anyone smile along with him.  Kevin loved the ocean and surfing. He was an excellent swimmer from an early age and could swim for miles in the ocean. Kevin loved music from an early age and played the Guitar. He  enjoyed sharing his love of music and world travels with his Facebook friends who he kept in touch with for many years.
 
Kevin was one of the many who served  proudly and returned home to suffer from PTSD. He was a Disabled American Veteran. 
 
He is survived by his parents, Giles and Elizabeth Nash;
brother, Michael Nash; 
two sisters, Sherrie (& Arthur) Campli and Cindy Reitenbaugh;  
niece, Sarah Campli  and nephew, Matthew Reitenbaugh.  
He will also be lovingly remembered by his extended family (Aunts, Uncles and Cousins)  and friends. 
 
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426.  Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service  at the Funeral Home. 
 
Interment will be private at a later date.
