Forever will remember the countless discussions filled with insight and dry wit of running and football with Uncle John for nearly 5 decades.

In the late 60's, John and I met at Bishop Neumann High School in South Philly, where we taught 54 boys per class. He was the steadiest, most easy going, always smiling teacher on the staff, both during and outside of class time. If you talked with him, you felt better about the world afterwards. He projected a positive attitude that was contagious. He remains one of those "good guys" to a lot of us old Neumann teachers. RIP.

I met John at the beginning of our teaching careers as part of the "Neumann Family". Always the gentleman, dedicated teacher, and a friend to all. A life well lived! Jim Stinger

My brother was without a doubt the gentlest man I have ever known, I don't believe I ever heard him say a negative word about anyone. We shared a bedroom for many years growing up in West Philadelphia and he taught me my first few chords on the guitar. Family parties always involved playing music and singing and I miss harmonizing with him. I trust he and MaryLou are walking hand in hand again as they watch over us who remain.
