Obituary of Nicholas J. Burns

Nicholas J. Burns, age 28, of Pottstown, PA passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.

Nick was born in Chestnut Hill, PA on October 27, 1991, the son of Michael  K. and Cheryl  A. (Pistilli) Burns.

Nick was a life-long resident of Lower Pottsgrove Twp. and a graduate of Pottsgrove High School.  He was funny, caring, compassionate, and loyal to his friends and family. He loved animals and was an avid fisherman.  He enjoyed sports and was a passionate Eagles fan. 

While he battled with opioid addiction, he was in active recovery but unfortunately relapsed. Through his struggle, he was resilient and determined to make a difference for others struggling, and was due to start school to become an addiction counselor.

Survivors include his parents, Michael & Cheryl Burns of Pottstown; sister, Jill Burns of West Conshohocken; grandmother, Shirley Pistilli of Lansdale; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Nathalie Miller of Pottstown.  

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA 19473. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, Nick's family would appreciate memorial contributions made in his name to either MCES (Montgomery County Emergency Services) or Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR), due to both the nature of his passing and his passion for animals.
