Obituary of Joseph B. McGann

Joseph B. McGann, age 72, of Perkiomenville, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at his home.

 

He was born in Norristown, PA on September 19, 1947, the son of the late Joseph B. and Sarah "Sally" (Wertz) McGann.

 

Joe has been living in Perkiomenville for 42 years, formerly of Conshohocken, PA.  He was a member of St. Mary's RC Church in Schwenksville.  Joe was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed reading.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.  

 

He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969.  

 

Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Ronnie McGann (nee Murphy); 

five children, Joseph (& Stacey) McGann, Michael (& Kathy) McGann, Peter (& Kimberly) McGann, Erin (& Steve) Maylath, and Sean McGann;

brother, Daniel (& Kay) Allerton;

and 11 grandchildren, Joey, James, Matt, Thomas, Ryan, Liam, Sarah, Amelia, Molly, Elizabeth and Lisi.  

 

He is also survived by brothers-in-law and lifelong friends, Michael (& Barbara) Murphy and James (& Cheryl) Murphy; and sister-in-law, Margaret Hallman; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Church of Saint Mary, 40 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville, PA 19473.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.

  

Interment will take place privately at a later date in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.  

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Mary Legacy of Faith Restoration Fund, 40 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville, PA 19473.
