Obituary of Charlotte G. Palek

Charlotte G. (Skaudis) Palek, 84, of Harleysville, PA passed away peacefully during a short hospital visit with family at her side on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

Charlotte was living in the Arbour Square Retirement Community since Nov 2015 and was formerly of East Norriton, PA where she lived with her husband (the late Edmund Palek, Sr) for more than 55 years. She was born in Shenandoah, PA on August 28, 1935 and was the daughter of the late George and the late Anna (Bronk) Skaudis. Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son Russell and brother Bernard Skaudis.

Survivors include her son Edmund Jr. (& Deborah) Palek, Jr., of Trooper, and granddaughters Jessica Palek (& fiancé Ryan Hoag) and Stacey Palek.

Charlotte was a member of St. Titus Church in East Norriton, PA.

Charlotte really enjoyed spending time with family and friends and lived a full life as a loving and devoted wife to her husband Ed for more than 60 years. She especially enjoyed camping with the family's travel trailer during summer trips to Myrtle Beach and more than 30 years camping with their close friends at Red Run Campground in Lancaster, PA. Charlotte was best known as “Nanny” to all, due to her devotion to her granddaughters Jessica and Stacey. She enjoyed arts and crafts and playing games with the girls, but her real specialty was spoiling her granddaughters during shopping trips to Boscovs and providing them with an endless combination of sweets (especially when their Mom and Dad weren’t around). This tradition of providing sweets continued at Arbour Square where she earned the title of “Lollipop Lady”, providing all of the residents with Dum-Dum lollipops and keeping her room stocked with candy and cookies for all of the care staff.

Friends and family may call on Monday evening, March 2, from 5:30 - 7:00 PM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401. A brief prayer service and eulogy will take place at 7:00 PM.

Interment will be private in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Norriton, PA.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association - PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
