Obituary of Sarah L. Mabry

Sarah L. Mabry, 96, of Jeffersonville, PA passed away on January 24, 2016. A daughter of the late Harry & Nettie ( Love ) Teaford. She was born in Eagle Rock,VA on September 15, 1919. Sarah was the loving wife of the late Dona F. Mabry, who passed away in 1981. Sarah and Dona were married in Eagle Rock, VA in 1937. They were the perfect match! She resided in Jeffersonville for the past 26 years, previously of King of Prussia. As a young mother, Sarah devoted her time, energy, and love to her family. She was a nurse's aide at Norristown State Hospital from 1950-1957. Bowling became a favorite activity and she won many tournaments in the Senior League. Sarah also enjoyed travel, word search puzzles, her grand-dogs, summers at the beach, and especially the Phillies. She ventured to Arizona, Alaska, Florida, Montana, a cross country train trip, and more. But her birthplace in the Alleghany Mts of Virginia was a place she and her family returned to many times. Sarah loved flowers and gardens, and always appreciated the beauty of nature. Survived by five children, Loretta Volpe, of Sanatoga; Richard (Irene), of Sanatoga; Ron (Linda), of Lucas, KY; Dale, of West Norriton; Donna Mabry (Stan Shupe), of Tucson, AZ; Daughter-in-law, Delores Mabry, of Covington, VA. 16 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. Brothers, Roscoe Teaford, and Harry Teaford. Sisters, Cecile Miller, and Shelby Valentine. Predeceased by her son, Louis; her son-in-law, Dominick Volpe; and daughter–in-law, Noreen Mabry. Siblings, Percy Teaford, Wayne Teaford, Dorothy Kelly, Doris Raysor, Barbara Dana, Wanda Brown, and Brandi Teaford. Services will be held at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 E Germantown Pike, East Norriton, on Friday, Jan 29, 2016. Friends and Family may visit from 9-10am, service at 10am, with interment to follow at Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, PA. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, or the Fox Chase Cancer Center. She resided in Jeffersonviell for the past 26 years. Previously of King of Prussia for 49 years. She was a nurses aide at Norristown State Hospital. She worked there from 1950-1957.
