Genevieve "Jean" V. Rose  

 

Jean  ( Valentine ) Rose, 86, of Norristown, PA passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on  Saturday, August 22, 2020.

 

She was born in Chestnut Hill, PA on June 4, 1934, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Lillian ( Santino ) Valentine.

Jean was staying at her daughter's home due to the current COVID 19 pandemic.  She lived at Rittenhouse School Apartments in Norristown for the last 25 years, formerly of East Norriton and Conshohocken.  She grew up in Conshohocken and graduated from Conshohocken High School, class of 1952, where she was voted Best Sense of Humor.  Jean was known for her engaging personality.  She acted as mom and grandmother by proxy for countless others.

 

She worked as a Book Keeper with John Wood Company, Chestnut Hill Hospital, Henkels & McCoy, and Park Towne Place but her joy was yard sales and flea markets.  She enjoyed embroidery, and collected everything from dolls to vintage collectibles of all kinds.

 

From 1960 to 1970 she volunteered as a Democratic Committee Woman for Montgomery County at the State level.  She drove voters to the polls and was on the Election committee for Gov. Milton Shapp.  She was also a member of the League of Democratic Women Voters.

 

Survivors include, Son Michael Rose of East Norriton, PA, Daughter Cynthia Rose of North Wales, PA, Son Dereck Rose of East Norriton, PA, Brother, Jeffrey (& Robert) Valentine of Conshohocken, PA and Sister Linda (& John) Walsh of Las Vegas, NV.

 

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Ann Marie Falco.

 

Her service and Interment will be private.
