Obituary of Marilyn K. Brosmer

Marilyn K. Brosmer

Marilyn K. ( Galehouse ) Brosmer, 89, of Blue Bell, PA passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020.

Marilyn was born in Barberton, Ohio on March 8, 1931, the daughter of the late John F. and the late Gertrude A. ( Baker ) Galehouse. She often spoke of her childhood and large family growing up. A favorite memory was living in Nevada for a short time as a young girl while her Dad worked as an engineer for the construction of the  Hoover Dam. Most of her childhood was spent in Alliance Ohio surrounded by extended family. She attended St John’s Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating in 1952. She practiced nursing well into her 50s with great pride and joy.

Marilyn and her husband, Al, were married in 1954. They lived in several places before settling in Blue Bell where she has lived for 60 years. Their love and respect for each other was evident to all. Widowed at the young age of 58, Marilyn missed her husband dearly the rest of her life.

Marilyn was dedicated to her faith friends and family. Her family was her greatest joy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved the beach and looked forward to reunion vacations and Thanksgiving celebrations. Marilyn was a strong and resilient woman. She persisted through many difficult times with dignity and grace. Her smile lit up a room and her laughter was contagious.

Marilyn was a long time member of Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church of Plymouth Meeting, PA. She took great comfort in her faith and looked forward to reuniting with her husband  Al, the love of her life.

Marilyn enjoyed playing the piano and played for Mass at Normandy Farms Estates where she lived for her latter years. She also enjoyed playing cards and games especially Rummikub, bridge and canasta.  She was a talented sewer, knitter and crocheter with her projects always for some else and not herself.

She was the wife of Late - C. Alan Brosmer.

Survivors include, daughter Lynn Cleveland of New Smyrna Beach, FL, daughter Mary Ann (& Rich ) Miller of Doylestown, Pa, brother Richard (& Mary Anne) Galehouse of Lexington, Ma, sister Carol Galehouse of East Walpole, Ma, Sister In Law Norma Galehouse Guilford, CT, grandchildren Matthew (& Melissa) Cleveland, Emily Miller and Brian Miller, and great grandchildren Jax Cleveland and Grace Cleveland.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sister Norma Stanton and her husband Vince, and her brothers James Galehouse and Lawrence Galehouse.

Her Private Family Service will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 10:00 AM from Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA.
