Edward J. O'Hanlon, Sr.  

 

Edward J. O'Hanlon, Sr., 75, of Blue Bell, PA passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, December 25, 2020

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa on October 30, 1945, the son of the late Edward J. and the late Veronica C. (Boyle) O'Hanlon. Ed has lived in Blue Bell, Pa, for over 43 years, formerly of Penn Wynne and Narberth, Pa.  He was born and raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Pa.

Ed was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School and LaSalle University. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 4 years, which included a tour in Vietnam. He was a member of Walker Lodge # 306 I.O.O.F for 45 years. Ed was a member of St. Helena's RC Church and a former member of Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church of Plymouth Meeting, Pa, where he was a member of Knights of Columbus serving as Grand Knight and Treasurer.

He worked as an Accountant with Unisys for 30 years before retiring in 2000.  During his retirement, Ed started a second career in Real Estate working with ERA Platinum and Keller Williams. 

Ed also enjoyed spending his summers in Sea Isle City, NJ along with hosting countless pool parties for his family and friends.  

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rebecca "Becky" (Dallett) O'Hanlon of Blue Bell, Pa., Son Edward J. O'Hanlon, Jr. of Pottstown, Pa, Daughter Nancy (& Ron) Shapiro of Blue Bell, Pa, Daughter Meghan (& Tom) Ellis of North Wales, Pa, Son Matthew (& Stephanie) O'Hanlon of Conshohocken, Pa, and by his Grandchildren Kelsey, Andrew, Katie, Josh, Tommy, Christopher, Shane, Carter, Caroline, and Emilia.

 Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his Grandson John M. Shapiro. 

Family and friends may call on Thursday, December 31, 2020, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Helena’s RC Church.

His Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 11:00 AM at St. Helena RC Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. 

Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, Pa.
