Obituary of Deborah A. Kiester

Debbie A. (Madden) Kiester, 55, a beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away on February 25th at her home in Schwenksville, following a 20-month fight against brain cancer. She was the wife of Eric F. Kiester, whom she celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary with in November. Born and raised in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Edward J. and the late Mary D. (Brennan) Madden of Philadelphia. Debbie graduated from Lansdale Catholic High School in 1978. She continued her education; graduating from Gwynedd-Mercy College with a B.S. in Business Administration and later changed careers, graduating from Kutztown University with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. Starting her career in Business, Debbie was employed for Merck & Co., in West Point & Blue Bell for 14 years. Her love for teaching brought her to teach 3rd grade for 17 years in the Boyertown Area School District. Outside the classroom Debbie enjoyed relaxing at the beach, cheering on the Eagles, Sixers, and Phillies, laughing with her book club, decorating for all holidays, watching Channel 6 Action News, and visiting her daughter in Boca Raton, FL any chance she could get. In addition to her husband, Debbie is survived by her daughter, Katie Kiester, her father, Edward Madden, her siblings, Helene (Butch) Alcott, Edward Madden Jr., and Peggy (Mike) Frascatore, as well as her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 10:00 - 10:45AM at St. Mary's Church, 40 Spring Mount Rd., Schwenksville, PA 19473. Debbie's Funeral Mass will follow the viewing at 11:00AM. Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, donations in Debbie's memory are preferred to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Philadelphia, 3004 Keenwood Road, East Norriton, PA 19403.
