Obituary of Rudy Brett
Leonard R. "Rudy" Brett, age 88, of Trooper, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Bay City, Michigan on May 3, 1932, the son of the late Emil and Anna (Nowicki) Chlebowski.
Rudy has been living in Trooper for 42 years, formerly of Roslyn, PA. He was a faithful parishioner of Visitation BVM R.C. Church. Rudy honorably served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He had a long career as a Salesman in the frozen food industry. Following his retirement, Rudy worked for many years at various local funeral homes as a funeral attendant.
Rudy was proud of his service as a PIAA sports official. He officiated basketball for 52 years, retiring in 2012; football for 50 years, retiring in 2013; girls' softball for 23 years, retiring in 2019; and girls' and boys' volleyball for 13 years, with which he remained active until the time of his passing.
He was an avid Michigan Wolverines and San Francisco 49ers football fan. A pancreatic cancer survivor of many years, Rudy was passionate about supporting cancer research and participated in many bike rides to the Jersey shore to raise funds for the cause.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia M. Brett (née Bradeis) of Trooper; son, Ronald L. (& Dorothy Ann) Brett of Horsham; and two daughters, Linda (& Robert) Snyder of Hatboro and Charlene Santillo of Gilbertsville.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Chandra (& Michael) Mackin, Ryan Snyder, Samantha (& Matthew) Douglas, Dayna (& Jeff) Lockard, Allison Brett, Amanda Brett, and Alexis Brett; five great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Cole, Haley, Emma and Braelyn; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Daniel Chlebowski.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM from Visitation BVM R.C. Church, 196 North Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.
Interment will take place in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA.
