Jack and the entire MacDonald Family,
My thoughts and prayers go out to Helen and the MacDonald family. Mr. MacDonald was a quiet, strong man. He was also a great father, grandfather, and most of all a great listener. I spent many hours speaking to him about business, people, and life in his den on Covered Bridge road. I will never forget his smile and guidance during our chats. I can still see the black and white portraits of his children which hung behind his chair. They always reminded me of JFK portraits. He will be missed. A life well-led.
Love to all,
Tim Carney and family.

Dear Helen: So sorry to hear this. Beth just called me.
Jack was really awesome. Early 1950's...I remember him as a kid when he lived on Line Road in Larchmont. He had just bought a 1953 Ford. I remember waiting to go into the bathroom and my mother said he was 22 years old. Man that seemed old. I also remeber when he was in the service (Korea?) and he sent me a cool jacked to wear with fantastic Korean graphics. We talked about that when I last saw him. He remembered sending it to me.
My mother always referred to him as her "Kid Brother." I asked her why and she responded in a vintage Mildred MacDonald manner.
RIP Jack. I will miss you.
Hope your up in the clouds with Poppy, your mother, Mildred, Helen and Betty drinking a cold one.
Steve Montgomery
PS: He loved that story about how his father (Poppy) got the dent in the back of his head as a young boy in Philly.
According to what Poppy told me, he was hasseling an old Italian guy...the old man got pissed and threw a brick and hit him in the back of his head.
As my mother would say, "Maybe it knocked some sense into him?"

Pop-Pop was truly one of the greatest people I will ever know and someone that will forever hold a very special place in my heart. To know Pop-Pop was to love him and I feel honored to have been blessed with a grandfather as amazing as him. Rest easy Pop-Pop, I love you.
