Obituary of Mary Ann McKenna

Mary Ann McKenna  

Mary Ann (Donnelly) McKenna of Broomall, PA, formerly of Havertown, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at age 92.

She was born to John and Margaret Donnelly on October 31,1928 in Castledawson, County Derry, Ireland.  She and her late husband, James McKenna were married 52 years. Together they had two children, Isobel and John. 

Survivors include, Isobel (Michael) Barth of Gwynedd Valley, John (Sherri) McKenna of Havertown, also survived by her grandchildren Megan (Shaun) Lewis, Peter (Mallory) Barth, James McKenna, Allie McKenna and Rebecca (Andrew) Bean, and her great grandchildren Caroline Lewis, Gavin Lewis, Maxwell Barth and Alexander Barth, sisters Elizabeth Quinn and Margaret McCann of County Antrim, Ireland and nieces, nephews and cousins.  Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Donnelly.

Mary worked as an accountant. She enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds and was an avid reader, particularly biographies.  She was a long time member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and The Legion of Mary.  She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and playing cards and board games with them.   

Her Private Family Mass will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM from St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 220 South Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008.

Funeral Mass will be live streamed at www.vimeo.com/SPXBROOMALL.

A private interment will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pa. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church at the address above or Marple Library - 2599 Sproul Road, Broomall, PA 19008.
