Obituary of Helene F. Berlinger

Helene F. Berlinger, age 99, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at her residence at Brandywine Living of Upper Providence, Phoenixville, PA.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Berlinger, who she married in 1946.  Helene was born on October 21, 1921 in Schenectady NY, to the late Francis and Anna Balty (Ontkush).

Following graduation from Mt. Pleasant High School, Schenectady, NY in 1939, Helene honorably served in the United States Army, Woman’s Army Corp., where she met her future husband James.

Helene worked in administrative positions off and on throughout the years, but was mostly at home enjoying time with family and friends. She loved sewing, flower arranging, going down the shore and she loved to travel, especially cruising nearly 50 times with her husband and family.  

Helene is survived by her three children: Teri Moyer (Tom) of Glenmoore, PA, Susan DeLany of Collegeville, PA, Ann (Bunny) Perry (Anthony) of Norristown, PA, grandchildren Samantha DeLany of Royersford, PA, Matthew DeLany (Laura) of Mt. Wolf, PA, and two great-grandchildren, Kaia and Carter DeLany.  Helene also had a special place in her heart for Lorena Rojas, who was her amazing caregiver for Helene’s years at Brandywine.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be announced for a time when family and friends can gather together safely.
