Obituary of Phyllis P. Godfrey

Phyllis (Phil) P. Godfrey, 84, passed away Saturday March 5, 2016 at St. Anthony's North Hospital, Thornton, Colorado. She was born in Minersville, PA on June 8, 1931. Phyllis has been living in Thornton, Co for over 2 years, formerly of Collegeville, PA, Hummelstown, PA and Conshohocken, PA. She worked nearly 30 years as school security and crossing guard with Lower Dauphin School District in Hummelstown, PA. She was the only daughter of the Late Nazzareno Delmoro and Ida ( Galasso ) Peroni-Delmoro, of Conshohocken, PA. For 50 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Herbert Josiah Godfrey. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Dr. Annette Godfrey Lambeth and husband Tom Lambeth, Thornton, CO; Daughter-in-law, Kathleen Godfrey, Marysville, PA; 5 wonderful grandchildren: Christine Godfrey McClucas, Felton, DE, Celina Godfrey, Marysville, PA, Cheryl Godfrey-Nunley, Kirkland, WA, Troy Lambeth, Bend, OR and Micaela Lambeth, Thornton, CO. Also survived by 6 great grandchildren: Michael McClucas, Earl McClucas, Margaret Mary McClucas, Marshall McClucas, Daniel Donbach and Hunter Donbach. Phyllis is also survived by 3 brothers, Nick Peroni, Conshohocken, PA, Mondo Delmoro, Brideport, PA and Sandy Delmoro, East Norriton, PA. Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son Earl J. Godfrey and brothers Paul Peroni and Bruno Delmoro. Phyllis passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She will be remembered in Hummelstown, PA as the crossing guard with a big heart, warm smile and kind words of advice for every child, as she stopped traffic on Main and John Streets, so they could safely get to and from school. She was a proud and faithful member of the following Roman Catholic Churches: St. Joan of Arc, Hershey, PA, St. Eleanor, Collegeville, PA and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Thornton, CO. There will be a viewing Thursday Evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday Morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM both at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, Pa 19426.
