Obituary of Catherine E. Champagne

Catherine E. Champagne

Catherine E. (Kilcoyne) Champagne, 94, of Lansdale, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at home.

Catherine (Kate) was born in Conshohocken, PA, on January 1, 1927, to the late Emma (Shoemaker) and James Kilcoyne.  She had one sister, the late Hannah Fineran.  She grew up in St. Matthew's Church, attending grade school and high school in the parish schools.

Kate married the late Donald Champagne on October 22, 1949.  They welcomed two daughters, Michelle (Mickey) and Eileen, and resided in Conshohocken in the early years of their marriage.  They later moved to Plymouth Meeting, but continued as members of St. Matthews Church.  In the later years of their marriage, they moved to Neshaminy Falls in North Wales, PA, and Mary, Mother of the Redeemer parish..

Kate and Champ enjoyed traveling, and visited many places in the States, as well as Europe.  Even after Champ's death, Kate traveled to Luxemburg, Ireland, and took a cruise with friends.   She traveled with Mickey and Eileen's families to ski destinations, Disneyworld, and Cancun, among other destinations.

In her last years, Kate enjoyed the close friends she made at Neshaminy Falls, and kept up with friends from High School as well.  She was very social, and enjoyed spending time with her friends (The St. Matt's Girls, The Lunch Bunch, Chickie Foot, and even Red Hats when it was in style!).  She always said that she had a lot of fun in her life, and that was due to her time with friends and family.

Kate really enjoyed spending time with her Grandchildren.  They visited her often, took her out to eat, kept her in SoCo (!), and always brought a smile to her face.  The Pandemic might have limited her visits with her Great-Grandchildren, but she was known to Zoom and Facetime!

Kate is survived by her daughters, Michelle (& Thomas) Kozlowski of Newtown, and Eileen Champagne of Lansdale; her grandchildren:  Brian (& Lauren) Kozlowski, Michelle (& Jeff) Luttrell, Scott Kozlowski, Mark Kozlowski, and Amanda Kline; her great-grandchildren:  Jacob Luttrell, Jeremy Luttrell, and Theodore Kozlowski.

Kate's funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 10:30 AM, at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.  Friends may call on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Church.

Interment will take place in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to Jefferson Abington Hospice, 225 Newtown Road, Warminster, PA   18974.
