Obituary of James M. Clarke

Dr. James M. Clarke, Sr. of Worcester was called home to God peacefully on March 13, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Villa in Flourtown surrounded by his family. Dr. Clarke was born on October 30, 1927 in Mahanoy Plain, PA, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Doolin) Clarke. He was 88 years of age. During World War II he served honorably in the United States Navy. Dr. Clarke was a graduate of LaSalle University and Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, Indiana. He practiced chiropractic in Philadelphia and later in Jeffersonville, serving his community for over 50 years. He was a past president of the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association. His other memberships included the American Legion and the AMBUCS of Jeffersonville. Dr. Clarke was the widower of Lois H. Clarke. He is survived by his son, Dr. James M. Clarke, Jr. and his daughter-in-law Dr. Ritamarie Mancini-Clarke, both of Worcester. Also surviving is his brother, William Clarke of Swarthmore. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Clarke. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Chapel of St. Joseph’s Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Avenue, Flourtown, Pa 19031 Friends may call the Chapel after 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
