From the first time our dear friend Nancy introduced us to Jerry, we could see the deep mutual admiration and compatibility. We’ll always cherish the memories of their beautiful wedding day and of our fun reunions — especially the many New Year’s Eve celebrations, which always included fiercely competitive men board games (Jerry and Glen vs Nancy and Judy) and TONS of laughter. Our prayers for healing are now with Nancy and Jerry’s family.

Jerry and I were wonderful friends in school and part of many theater productions for Deer Park High School. I have such fond memories of him and truly loved his exuberance and zest for life. My heartfelt condolences to his wife, mother, and children.

In Houston, as a bookclub friend of Nancy’s, I remember those magical times when Jerry and Nancy met. During those times, all of us bookclub members were as eager to hear the latest details of their courtship as we were to discuss our book. (Truth be told we were much more interested than we were for the book.). We knew this was a “match made in heaven.” And because of their special relationship, this untimely death is so shocking and horribly sad to all of us who knew them. It is clear - life is not fair. We are so sorry for the loss of Jerry — to his sweet wife and his family and friends. Linda Andrews

Some people, when you meet them, warm you with a radiant smile. For a small portion of those, that special energy spreads to their eyes, and you can see the light there too. When you get to converse with such a person, you immediately feel content. Uncle Jerry was one of those people. Every single conversation with him would make me stop and think (but never in an intimidating way). What made Uncle Jerry one of a kind is that his impressive intelligence was always accompanied by that warm smile and special light. I am sorry that he is gone from this earth but know he left a remarkable impact on all of those who met him.
Since Uncle Jerry knew both Jesus and German, I won’t say, “good bye.” Instead, “auf wiedersehen”. Until we all meet again, know I am so very thankful for your time with us, and especially for the time with my Aunt Nancy. Together, you two are a light that will always shine.

I had the privilege of knowing Jerry and counted him as a very good friend. We met during his time at Sight into Sound, a Houston non profit, where he volunteered his time and voice while reading for the blind and print impaired. Jerry was a beautiful person who shared his brilliant mind, amazing sense of humor and strong faith with those around him. As a Texas Longhorn, we often gave one another a hard time regardless of the sport being played. He sure loved his Baylor Bears and Baylor was lucky to count him as an alum. Jerry was a very special person and I cannot help but think that he was greeted with: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Jerry, you are loved, and missed so very much.
Prayers of comfort and love sent to his loving family and friends,
Kari Musgrove

Dear Nancy,
Although we never got to meet Jerry, we understand what a wonderful husband, father and friend he was. Please accept our deepest sympathy to you and his family. Jerry was a Christian so someday we will all meet again. Love to you and yours, may God grant you peace and perfect memories.
