Obituary of Tracy Ann Tufillaro
Tracy Ann Tufillaro, age 65, of Upper Providence, PA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 15, 2021 at her home.
She was born in Norristown, PA on June 6, 1956, the eldest child of the late Donald B. and Maryann (Donoske) Tufillaro.
Tracy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston College where she wrote poetry and short stories as the editor of "The Stylus", one of the oldest college publications in the country. She also earned a master’s degree in communications from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She worked for many years as an executive in telecommunications, which allowed her to travel extensively and live in Northern New Jersey and, later, the San Francisco Bay Area. She was passionate about her career and tirelessly strove to advocate and create opportunities for her employees and friends.
Tracy was a devout Catholic who embraced the virtue of charity. Most recently, she regularly volunteered to work with residents of the memory care wing at Brandywine Living. During her retirement, she moved back to the Greater Philadelphia area, caring for her aging parents and volunteering with church outreach programs to deliver homecooked meals to those in need.
Tracy was also a lover of the arts and politics. A natural conversationalist, she was well-read and always had interesting opinions about music, movies, literature, and issues of social justice, each of which she would deliver with zeal. She was noted in her community as “an excellent moderator” of the book club she founded for Brandywine Living residents.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen (Mark) Freilich of Collegeville; brother, Nicholas B. (Judi) Tufillaro of Corvallis, OR; aunt, Rona Arena of King of Prussia; her three nephews, Joshua Freilich, Colin Freilich, and Albert Tufillaro; and many cousins and friends. She loved her family and friends deeply.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM in St. Eleanor's RC Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.
Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Norriton, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund https://curealz.org .
