Obituary of John M. Zamichieli

John M. Zamichieli, age 87, of Plymouth Meeting, PA passed away at his residence on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

 

He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Silvio and Caroline (Salvatore) Zamichieli on July 2, 1934.

 

John was a retired self-employed upholsterer who dedicated over 40 years to his craft. He was a member of St. Philip Neri Church and a proud Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Since 1975, John lived on Butler Pike in Whitemarsh Township and Plymouth Meeting Township, respectively. John was an accomplished bowler and recognized by the United States Bowling Congress for having bowled a perfect 300 game. He was also an avid animal lover, a passion he passed on to his children.

 

He was a devoted husband of the late Margaret "Peggy" (Quinn) Zamichieli, who passed in 2009.

 

He is survived by two daughters, MaryJo Katona of Plymouth Meeting and Carol (& Tim) Herrera of Conshohocken;

three sons, John "Skipper" (& Jane) Zamichieli of Center Valley, Bobby (& Cindy) Zamichieli of Douglassville, and Jim (& Melanie) Zamichieli of Lafayette Hill, and sister, Delores Pisacano of East Norriton.

 

John is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

 

Along with his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Gabrielle Katona; brothers, Michael, Daniel and Joseph Zamichieli; and son-in-law, Jeff Ziernicki.

 

His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM from St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Monday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church.

 

Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
