Obituary of Anna Mae Coleman

Anna Mae (Ferraro) Coleman passed away peacefully at her home in East Norriton with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. She was 87.

Born in Bridgeport, PA on August 19, 1934, Anna Mae was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School.

She is retired from Fidelity Bank of Bridgeport, of which she worked as the head teller for nearly 50 years.

She was also a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport.

Anna Mae is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Frank Coleman, niece Jacqueline A. (Shawn) Courtney, nephew Carmen D. Candello, a great nephew Shawn Jordan Courtney, a special family friend Donna Stanko, and a multitude of cousins, friends, and neighbors from both near and far who profoundly enriched Anna Mae’s life.

She is reunited in death with her parents Dominic and Mary (Roberto) Ferraro, sister Marie T. Ferraro, and sister Helen V. (Carmen) Candello.

Anna Mae loved to entertain her family and friends. A person could not step foot into her home without first being offered something to eat or drink. A staple of a Coleman gathering was ring bologna, cheese, diet-decaf iced tea, and a game of cards. Anna Mae was a hostess in the most undeniable form and always welcomed people to her table with outstretched arms and a contagious smile. Whether it be at the mountains, Florida, West Chester, Paoli, or East Norriton, Anna Mae made friends with whomever she could share a conversation with. She was a deeply empathetic person who cared immensely about any issue in her family’s life, often taking them on as if they were her own. A self-proclaimed “worry wart”, Anna Mae prayed for all those who crossed her path. Above all, Anna Mae was a devoted wife. When they weren’t at the casino, she and Frank could always be seen sitting on their back porch soaking up the sunshine together (or driving through the neighborhood on the golf cart). Anna Mae will be remembered as a woman of faith who was strong, compassionate, and unwavering in her love for family. She was a beautiful person who lived a beautiful life.

A Funeral Mass for Anna Mae will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10:30 AM from Sacred Heart Parish Church, 120 Jefferson Street, Bridgeport, PA 19405. The Reverend Peter J. DiMaria will be officiating.
